Sound and character
This version is the tuned, selected piece of the standard-size jaw harp: the Dan Moi workshop sifts through thousands of pieces to find those that are also tonally accurate. You can be sure that the fundamental is stable and can be played alongside other instruments. The sound is brilliant, overtone-rich – like a traditional Hmong jaw harp, only more precise.
How to use
Place the jaw harp gently in front of your lips with your tongue, then shape the sound through your oral cavity, tongue movement and breath. Since this piece is tuned, you can play it together with other instruments – guitar, monochord, singing bowls. Designed for adult mouth size.
Why this product
If you play with other instruments, or simply want certainty about the jaw harp's pitch, this tuned version is the right one. You get the same handcrafted quality as the standard version, plus the assurance of a tonally selected piece.
Care tips
- Since it's a tuned piece, try it next to a monochord or singing bowl – surprising harmonies may emerge.
- Don't bite the metal – teeth can be damaged.
- Take care: the metal is sharp and pointed – risk of injury to mouth and fingers.
- After use, wipe with a dry cloth and return to the pouch.
