Japana F1 hybrid radish is the classic of Asian cuisine, the Daikon type. Vigorous growth, with a white, cylindrical, blunt-tipped root, reaching 35 cm in good conditions. Best grown on raised ridges for the long root.
Growing
Sow in August for autumn maturity. Row spacing 30 cm, plant spacing 20 cm — needs space. Sowing depth 2 cm. The key is loose, deeply worked soil so the long root can grow straight.
Asian cuisine: miso soup, pickled daikon, grated raw in Japanese dishes, also stir-fried. A real Asian kitchen experience from your own garden.
