The classic jam-shape glass jar is a favourite packaging of home preservers, honey producers, spice-blend makers, and small artisan bakeries. The all-glass construction (with a glass lid) is particularly elegant and fully recyclable — containing neither plastic nor metal. This pack of 12 provides a series-worth of jars for home hobby makers and small business owners.
What is included in the 12-piece pack
12 clear glass jars of 150 ml nominal capacity, each with a matching glass lid. Typical dimensions are 9 × 4 cm — the 9 cm is the total height (including the lid) and 4 cm is the diameter, giving a slimmer, taller form than the classic short jam jar. Net weight of a single jar + lid is 155 g, and the total package gross weight is 1.8 kg. The 150 ml size is a classic jam serving: enough for a breakfast or a few uses.
All-glass construction and its advantages
All-glass construction offers two significant advantages. The first is purity: no aluminium that may discolour, no plastic gasket that may age over time. The glass lid is simple, classic, and easier to clean. The second is appearance: an all-glass jar conveys a handcrafted, traditional feel — ideal for decorative packaging of gift honey, homemade jam, or one-of-a-kind products. The complete package is recyclable within a single material category (glass).
Glass lid details
The glass lid sits on the mouth of the jar with a small outer rim. Precise fit can be supplemented with a silicone or rubber gasket under the lid (sold separately if vacuum-level sealing is required). For preserve-style heat-treatment, the lid can be separately boiled and a classic vacuum seal can be achieved. For simple shelf storage, the lid alone is sufficient to ensure dust- and insect-tight closure.
Typical areas of use
- Long-term storage of homemade jam, marmalade, and preserved fruit
- Decorative packaging of honey, homemade syrups, and flavoured sugars
- Custom spice blends, salts, and herb mixes
- Cream, balm, and lip balm in homemade recipes
- Gift portions of honey or jam for guests
Cleaning and reuse
Before first use, wash the jar and lid with warm water and detergent, then rinse thoroughly. For preserving, boiling or 90 °C cleaning is recommended for both the jar and the lid. Glass is chemically inert, so it can be refilled with any contents after proper cleaning. It is also dishwasher-safe, as there is no metal or plastic gasket. Working life is practically unlimited, provided the lid and jar rims are handled with care.
