Ispalla incense sticks are hand-crafted in Peru from the powder and natural resin of pure Palo Santo holy wood, rolled around a bamboo stick that gives a strong, stable core. The tasteful cardboard display holds twelve separate small packs, each containing around 13 g of sticks. One stick burns for about 50 minutes, giving you a soft, sweet-woody aroma.
How an Ispalla stick is made
The sticks are rolled by hand: bamboo cores are dipped in a mixture of Palo Santo powder, Palo Santo resin and distilled water. This simple recipe gives the natural character – there is no synthetic fragrance; the wood itself provides the aroma you smell.
What the box contains
Inside the cardboard display you will find twelve separate small packs, each with around 13 g of incense sticks. This format is ideal for you if several people in the household enjoy incense, or if you would like to give some packs as gifts. The individual wrapping helps to keep the aroma fresh for longer.
Source and certification
Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) is native to the dry forests of Peru. The wood used for these sticks comes only from naturally fallen branches – no living trees are cut. The display includes information in English and Spanish, and the recipe is made with recyclable packaging and without child labour.
How to use it
Take a stick out of the pack and light the tip. Let it burn with a flame for a few seconds, then blow it out – the stick now glows evenly. Place it in a heat-resistant incense holder so that the glowing end does not touch anything. One stick burns for about 50 minutes and slowly fills the room with its pleasant aroma.
Storage and safety notes
Unopened small packs kept in the original box, in a cool dry place, will preserve their aroma well. Never leave a burning stick unattended, keep it away from children and pets, and ventilate the room from time to time so fresh air mingles pleasantly with the smoke.
