The 47 cm Ishana, the top of the series
The 47 cm Ishana is the largest piece of the Ishana series, where sound and appearance are equally impressive. The large internal volume produces an exceptionally deep base tone, and the thick alloy wall gives a very long sustained resonance. The black and gold finish is hand painted, so your piece can be a striking decoration on its own.
Playing it
Place it on a sturdy wooden stand or a larger cushion and tap the side with a single slow, firm motion using the included wooden striker. Rubbing the rim in a circular pattern produces a continuous, higher vibration. After a few attempts you will sense how much force suits your hand and will enjoy a clearer, rattle-free resonance.
Use at home
Many owners use the largest size for deep meditation, quiet sound-bath-like moments or longer rest. The vibration of the body also gently moves its surroundings, so you can hear and feel the sound at the same time. As a decoration it is a defining piece in a living room or quiet retreat space.
Material and origin
The bowl is made of metal alloy and comes from a manufacturer in India. The black base and gold pattern are applied by hand, so your piece shows a unique drawing. The thick wall holds the tone steadily and, with careful handling, keeps the original note for many years.
Care and storage
Use a dry or slightly damp soft cloth for cleaning and avoid abrasive products. Store in a dry place protected from sunlight and humidity. If you do not play it for a longer period, store it wrapped in a soft cloth so the surface of your piece stays scratch-free.
