The tone of the Moon in a single strike
This distinctive horizontal bar gong resonates at 210.4 Hz - the pitch traditionally associated with the Moon. Right after the strike you hear the full tone with its overtones; these gradually fade, the fundamental note takes over and slowly begins to pulsate. You do not just hear this pulsation, you almost feel it - which is why it is so popular in meditation and sound therapy sessions.
When should you play it?
The Moon tone is considered relaxing, calming and balancing, so we recommend it for winding down before sleep, closing a meditation or the quieter parts of a sound bath. If you use it together with the Sun version, the two instruments complement each other: the Sun stands for activity, the Moon for rest, making the transition between tension and relaxation easier.
Materials and build
The sounding body is made of brushed aluminium, resting on a smoked, oiled oak base with natural felt feet - the gong sits firmly and silently on any table or floor. Length approx. 146.5 cm, width 17.5 cm, height 18.5 cm, tube diameter 8 cm, weight approx. 4.5 kg. Made in Germany. The mallet is included, so you need nothing else to start playing.
