A finely detailed silver-plated pendant shaped like an angel with wings, set with stones in several colours. It hangs upright on the 45 cm black cord it comes with, weighs about 9 g and was made in India.
Wings and coloured stones
On the silvery angel, the coloured stones catch the eye, while the black cord gives them a calm frame. It looks best on a plain jumper or blouse. On the 45 cm cord it hangs just below the collarbone, so it shows above a round neckline too. At 9 g, it is comfortable to wear all day.
You can see the exact colours of the stones in the product photos. They are small decorative stones, and we don't name the type, because we have no reliable information on it.
Where the word angel comes from
The word angel comes from the Greek angelos, meaning “messenger”. In the Bible, angels carry God's messages to people, and in Christian tradition a guardian angel walks beside each person and keeps them safe.
That is why many people give an angel pendant to someone they wish well. It makes a lovely gift for a christening, a graduation or a birthday. In the Catholic calendar, 2 October is the feast of the Guardian Angels, another good occasion.
Keep it away from water and perfume
The pendant is silver-plated, with a thin layer of silver over the metal; it is not solid silver. To keep it bright, take it off before showering or swimming, and put on perfume before you put on the necklace. Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaners.
