Here "opium" is the name of a distinctive oriental blend: a deep meeting of rich, spicy and sweet shades. It is hand-rolled to an Indian masala recipe.
The oriental blend
Compositions named opium are classics of the warm, spicy oriental fragrance family. Their full, dense smoke creates a deep, slightly mysterious mood in a room.
Masala incense
Masala incense is not a single essential oil but a hand-kneaded blend of spices, resins and botanicals. This is what gives its smoke a full, layered and slowly unfolding character.
How to use
Place the stick in a heat-resistant incense holder, light the tip, then gently blow out the flame so it begins to smoulder. Always burn under supervision in a well-ventilated room, and keep away from children and flammable materials. It is about 22 cm long.
