The scent of white sage is instantly recognisable: dense, herbaceous and a little balsamic, clean and serious. This stick brings the mood of the traditional space-cleansing plant in the form of a convenient, everyday stick.
The scent of white sage
White sage is the plant known from the dried leaves of the Californian Salvia apiana, which when burned gives a dense, herbaceous-balsamic smoke. It is the traditional plant of "smudging", or space cleansing, in North American Indigenous cultures – which we mention with respect. The masala base softens the smoke, so its scent is full and balanced.
When to reach for it
It is a great choice when you want a clean, fresh start in a space – before meditation or yoga, or simply to create a calm, settled atmosphere.
Use and finish
A hand-rolled, traditional Indian masala stick, roughly 23 cm long, in a decorative hexagonal gift pack. Place it in a stable, non-flammable holder, light the tip, then blow out the flame. Never leave burning incense unattended, and ventilate the room while it burns.
