A dragon on your shelf, but a gentle one
In many cultures the dragon is a symbol of protection, wisdom and strength — in China an image of good fortune, in Europe an emblem of ancient knowledge. This 25 cm acacia holder arrives with a hand-carved dragon motif: it has character without being flashy. Stable, light (45 g) and made for exactly one stick — at once decoration and a piece that works.
The message of the dragon motif
In East Asian traditions, the dragon is not afraid of water, sky or fire — which is why it is considered a symbol of courage. In Taoist myths it is also linked with the image of immortality. You do not need to identify with these stories — many people simply enjoy the strong, decisive lines of the carving.
How acacia is worked
The hardness of acacia is what gives the long life span. The warm brown colour and the grain are natural — the dragon's lines are carved by hand, so each piece is subtly different, and that uniqueness adds to its value. The surface is not glossy with lacquer but has a natural feel.
What sticks it is suited for
The 25 × 4 cm size suits thinner sticks — Japanese, yoga, Marco Polo, agarbatti, masala, Satya and archangel types. For thicker, rolled sticks, a wider holder is recommended.
How to use and care for it
Place it on a flat, heat-resistant surface and avoid draughty spots. The ash from the glowing stick is caught by the length of the holder; after use wipe it off with a soft cloth. Do not wash it with water and do not keep it in damp places. Years from now, it will still carry the same beautiful character as on the first day.
