The clean lines of the black soapstone holder
This 10-centimetre holder is made of polished black soapstone. The deep black colour and the polished, glossy surface give a remarkably elegant yet understated impression. You can confidently place it on a living-room shelf, on a bedside table, or in the corner of a desk: it looks good in every environment, because it does not overpower other decorative elements.
How to use it
The holder is designed for a single traditional incense stick: you can insert the thin stick into the small central opening. The slightly curved surface catches the falling ash, so there will be no dust or dirt beneath the surface. A daily dry wipe or a slightly damp cloth is enough for you to keep the holder clean.
A brief note on soapstone
Soapstone is a soft, fine-grained natural mineral. Its polished surface is pleasantly smooth, almost silky to the touch, and does not cool down to the touch as much as metals or clear glass. You receive a warm, naturally feeling base for traditional incense use.
Origin and handwork
The holder is made in India in traditional hand workshops. The 198-gram weight gives stability: it does not move on the table even when you light the stick. The surface is unique on every piece; thanks to the fine shades of natural soapstone, pieces may vary slightly, which is part of handwork. It arrives in cardboard packaging.
Cleaning and storage
You can wipe away ash left behind after use with a soft brush or a slightly damp cloth. For stains, a soft cloth and a little washing-up liquid may also be enough. Please avoid lemon, vinegar, and strong chemicals, as soapstone can be sensitive to these. Always dry it after use and store it on a horizontal, smooth surface.
