A selected, natural resin incense for charcoal and incense sieves, with a slowly unfolding, warm smoke. A clean material for lovers of traditional incense.
Myrrh, the Ancient Balsamic Resin
Myrrh is the resin of the Commiphora myrrha tree, one of the oldest sacred scents. Its warm, balsamic, slightly bitter smoke is deep and earthy. For millennia tradition has held it as a resin of ceremony and contemplation.
Composition
Pure myrrh resin (commiphora myrrha – eritrea, ethiopia and somalia).
How to Use
The resin is traditionally burned by sprinkling it onto glowing charcoal or an incense sieve; on a sieve the embers release the scent more slowly and gently. A few grains are plenty for one session. Use it in a well-ventilated room on a heatproof surface.
Good to Know
This is a natural resin, so the size, colour and shade of the grains may vary a little from piece to piece — the mark of a real, unprocessed material. Keep it well sealed in a cool, dry place and it will last a long time.
