A selected, natural resin incense for charcoal and incense sieves, with a slowly unfolding, warm smoke. A clean material for lovers of traditional incense.
Copal, the Fresh, Woody Resin
Copal is a pale, fresh, lightly citrus-piney resin with a clean, airy smoke. The ancient incense resin of Mesoamerica, which tradition knows as a scent for freshening a space and for ceremony.
Composition
Copal resin (agathis dammara – southeast asia).
How to Use
The resin is traditionally burned by sprinkling it onto glowing charcoal or an incense sieve; on a sieve the embers release the scent more slowly and gently. A few grains are plenty for one session. Use it in a well-ventilated room on a heatproof surface.
Good to Know
This is a natural resin, so the size, colour and shade of the grains may vary a little from piece to piece — the mark of a real, unprocessed material. Keep it well sealed in a cool, dry place and it will last a long time.
