With its dense, earthy and faintly sweet character, patchouli has long accompanied quiet, inward moments. Rolled by hand in the masala style, these sticks burn slowly and evenly, releasing a warm, balsamic smoke into the room.
The scent of patchouli
Patchouli is drawn from the leaf of Pogostemon cablin and carries a deep, earthy, slightly woody-aniseed aroma that perfumers often reach for as a base note. Its character only grows rounder and softer with time. In tradition it is known as the scent of grounding and sensuality.
Hand-rolled masala craft
The sticks are made by hand in the Indian masala tradition, from natural plant-based ingredients and without synthetic additives. Each stick measures about 22.7 cm. As every batch is handmade, small variations are a natural part of the craft.
How to use
Light the tip of the stick, let it glow for a few seconds, then blow out the flame. The smoke shows at its best in a heat-resistant holder, away from draughts. It offers a pleasant backdrop for meditation, yoga, or simply setting a mood.
