Two forms, one holder
You receive a holder suitable for both stick and cone incense. A small opening on the surface receives the stick, while the central flat area offers a stable place for the cone. There is no need to keep a separate piece for each type, since a single object is enough.
In the company of the OM symbol
The OM symbol is set onto the surface of the holder with a fine pattern. In Eastern tradition this mark is one of the oldest visible imprints of sound and a companion of meditation and quiet evening practice. The lines of the motif appear deeply yet gently on the surface.
How you use it day by day
You place the stick incense into the small opening, and the ash falls into the channel. The cone is placed on the central smooth area, and its ash also remains on the surface of the holder. You may use it during a morning sitting, at the start of an evening meditation or on a quiet weekend, and you can easily keep the surrounding surface clean.
Where to place it
Set the holder on a stable, slightly heat resistant surface that can tolerate a small fall of ash. A wooden shelf, a small metal tray or a flat stone all suit it. It will find its place in a meditation corner, in the quiet part of the living room or on a bedroom shelf.
Care and maintenance
Let the holder cool completely after use, then clean off the ash. A soft brush will easily sweep away the residue, or a damp cloth may be used if the surface allows. Avoid pouring fragrant oils directly onto the holder, since the surface may retain lasting marks from them.
