This clean incense holder works with both stick and cone incense, and its small size fits almost anywhere: the corner of a desk, a meditation nook or the edge of a shelf. It is made of mango wood and set with polished rainbow moonstone.
The moon goddess and moonstone
The figure of the moon goddess lives in the traditions of many cultures: she symbolises the feminine principle, intuition and the natural rhythms of life, and is often linked to the moon's phases – waxing, full and waning – which evoke birth, maturity and passing. The rainbow moonstone set into it is called the dream stone in India and known in tradition as a stone of gentle emotions.
Use and care
It suits thinner sticks – such as bamboo-stick or Japanese incense – and incense cones; always burn the glowing tip and the cone on a heat-resistant, stable surface in a draught-free spot, and never leave it unattended. The falling ash gathers easily on the holder. The wooden surface can be cared for with a dry cloth. It measures about 10 × 1 cm; as the rainbow moonstone is a natural mineral, its shade varies slightly from piece to piece.
