This clean incense holder works with both stick and cone incense, and its small size fits almost anywhere: the corner of a desk, a meditation nook or the edge of a shelf. It is made of mango wood and set with polished amethyst.
The symbol and amethyst
The symbol shows two hands radiating energy: an ancient image of the laying on of hands, the power of touch, representing the restoration of balance across body, emotions and spirit. The laying on of hands is an age-old practice still alive today – for instance in Reiki and other forms of energy work. The amethyst set into it is known in tradition as a stone of calm and clarity.
Use and care
It suits thinner sticks – such as bamboo-stick or Japanese incense – and incense cones; always burn the glowing tip and the cone on a heat-resistant, stable surface in a draught-free spot, and never leave it unattended. The falling ash gathers easily on the holder. The wooden surface can be cared for with a dry cloth. It measures about 10 × 1 cm; as the amethyst is a natural mineral, its shade varies slightly from piece to piece.
