Honey Dew cantaloupe is an elegant, Mediterranean-feel variety. Growing season 90–100 days. The fruit is round, 1–2 kg, with a smooth whitish-yellow rind — unlike Hungarian melons, no netting here. The flesh is firm, pleasantly sweet.
Growing
Sow in April into seed trays. Transplant in mid-May to a warm, sunny spot. Plant spacing 80 cm, row spacing 1.5 metres. Nutrient- and water-demanding.
The melon ripens in August. The firm flesh makes it especially good for shipping and storing. Best chilled — in fruit salad or on its own.
