The rare white salt crystal
White Himalayan salt crystal is considerably rarer than the classic pink and orange variants, because it is only found in certain layers of the Pakistani mines. You receive a special piece with a pale cream base and a slightly translucent surface. The light filters through it and gives the room a particularly refined, more modern atmosphere than the warmer-toned pink lamps.
Shape and size
The lamp has an irregular shape, with width and height between 16 and 20 cm and a weight of around 2.7 kg. This size is ideal for a bedroom bedside table, the corner of a chest of drawers or a smaller desk. The dark acacia wood base creates a sharp, beautiful contrast with the whitish crystal, so it looks good on your shelf even during the day.
Paler, creamy light
Filtered through the white crystal, the traditional bulb becomes a pale cream or very faintly gold light. This glow is cooler and cleaner than the orange shine of the classic pink lamps. If you are thinking of a Scandinavian, nature-near or minimalist home style, this white version will fit your interior far better.
Air freshening and wellbeing
The white salt crystal has the same ionising effect as the pink one — as it warms up, it releases negative ions, binds dust particles and reduces the feeling of electrosmog. Many people notice that they wake up with a drier throat without it, and that switching on the salt lamp eases this. The effect is subtle, but present.
Care and lifespan
The white salt crystal is more sensitive to moisture, because any potential dampness shows more visibly on its lighter surface. Keep it in a particularly dry place and do not place it in the bathroom or kitchen. If it does feel damp, switch the lamp on for 1-2 hours and wipe it with a dry cloth. You can replace the bulb at any time with another E14 15-watt type when the original burns out.
