Inside are jasmine HEM incense sticks from the Ritual Botanica series. The hexagonal box is light green with botanical drawings and reads “Jasmine”. It is made in India, and you get one box.
Jasmine in India
In India jasmine flowers are strung into garlands for weddings and temple offerings, and many women wear them in their hair. The scent is sweet and floral. Like the rose, jasmine is traditionally linked with love.
For summer evenings and as a gift
On a summer evening, by an open window or in the bedroom, jasmine is a popular choice. It also makes a sweet little gift, for example with a bunch of flowers. If you love floral scents, jasmine is one of the best known.
Every Ritual Botanica box says “Smudge”, the English word for clearing a space with plant smoke. You still burn the stick in a holder like any other incense. The other scents in the series are woody, earthy, herbal or resinous, which makes jasmine the only floral one we stock.
If you also like rose, have a look at the rose version of the Palo Santo Masala series, where the flower is blended with a woody scent.
When you light it
Put the stick in a heat-resistant holder and keep it away from curtains, as the ash will fall. Do not leave it unattended, and put it out before bed. In a small room one stick is enough, and you can open a window afterwards.
A wooden or soapstone stick holder works well. Keep an opened box somewhere dry so the sticks do not get damp.
