Palo santo-scented HEM incense sticks in a natural-looking hexagonal box. The box is about 25 cm long, the sticks are made in India, and the scent is distinctive. You will need an incense holder to burn them.
Palo santo, the "holy wood"
Palo santo means holy wood in Spanish. In South America, especially in Peru and Ecuador, the wood has long been burned at ceremonies. It is said that its smoke carries away a heavy mood, which is why many people today light it to clear a room in the spiritual sense, for example when moving house or after a hard day.
Some also light it before yoga or meditation, so that practice always begins with the same familiar scent.
A stick instead of a piece of wood
A piece of palo santo wood has to be relit several times, because it soon goes out. A stick smoulders evenly in its holder, so you don't need to hold it in your hand.
These sticks are palo santo-scented. If you would like to burn the wood itself, you will find it among our palo santo wood pieces.
When moving house
A house move means plenty of cardboard boxes and packing paper lying around. Put the holder on a clear table, on a heat-proof mat, and stay with it while the stick glows.
Open a window afterwards. To put it out, press the glowing end into sand and check a few minutes later that it has really gone out. If you have small children or pets, light it in a room where they are not.
