Equinox: an E minor scale at 432 Hz
The well-known EQUINOX tuning is a natural E minor scale with the fourth degree left out. What makes this instrument special is that it is tuned not to the 440 Hz of the concert hall but to 432 Hz - so the whole instrument sounds a shade lower. Many players choose it for exactly that reason when meditating or winding down.
The eight tone fields
The tuning consists of the notes E / G, B, C, D, E, F# and G. These are only notes that match each other, so whatever order you strike them in with your fingertips, the melody always blends beautifully. You can play it straight away, without sheet music or musical training.
Clear tonality, cathedral effect
The series offers not only a soothing, relaxing sound but also surprises the listener with its pure tonality and long-ringing, almost church-like spatial effect. It holds its own as a percussion instrument just as well as it accompanies meditation or sound therapy sessions.
Dimensions and accessories
The instrument is 54 cm in diameter (approx. 21.5 inches), 25 cm high and weighs 4.5 kg. The package includes a cotton pouch, a carrying backpack and a protective cover, so you can take it safely to a performance, a session or on a journey.
