D minor Celtic: the seventh-degree tuning
This instrument carries the dominant seventh D minor tuning, known in the handpan world as CELTIC. The notes of the scale are D / A, C, D, E, F, G, A. The C appearing as the seventh degree gives the sound a slightly wistful, open and balladic warmth - which is why this is one of the best-loved tunings in the field.
Eight tone fields, one blended scale
The handpan is built with eight tone fields, and each tuning contains only notes that harmonise with one another. So you get a beautiful melody even if you have never played an instrument before: the fields struck with your fingertips blend in any order.
Cathedral-like sustain
The sound is soothing and relaxing, yet it also impresses with its pure tonality and long-ringing spatial effect. The handpan is used as a percussion instrument, but most people pick it up for meditation, sound baths and therapeutic sessions.
Size, weight, accessories
The instrument is 54 cm in diameter (approx. 21.5 inches), 25 cm high and weighs 4.5 kg - comfortable both on your lap and on a stand. The package contains a cotton case, a carrying backpack and a safety cover, so transport and storage are taken care of from day one.
