Enchanting D minor Amara tuning
This handpan features nine tone fields in D minor Amara tuning: the D fundamental in the centre, surrounded by D / A - C - D - E - F - G - A - C. The tuning creates a soft, dreamlike, slightly melancholic mood - however you strike the fields, the notes blend beautifully, making it nearly impossible to play a wrong melody. The sound is characterised by clear sustain and a spacious, cathedral-like effect.
Played on your lap, with both hands
A handpan is played resting on your lap or a stand, using fingertips and palms - no mallet needed. The instrument itself weighs about 4.4 kg, comfortable to hold on your lap. The complete package measures approx. 54 x 54 x 25 cm and weighs about 9.8 kg with all accessories.
