A small hanging mobile made of wool felt. It has a smiling white cloud with six raindrops hanging below. The cloud has an embroidered face, and the drops come in soft shades of green, beige, grey, pink, orange and graphite. It measures about 28 x 12 x 3.5 cm and weighs about 50 g.
Each one is made by hand in Nepal using traditional wool felting, so the colour and shape of the drops may vary slightly from piece to piece. In felting, the wool is wetted with warm, soapy water and rubbed until the fibres bind together into solid felt.
Quiet colours
The colours of the drops are muted, and together with the white cloud they suit a light, modern home. The grey and graphite go well with a white wall, the pink and orange with a warmer room. You can choose it for a child's room or a grown-up room alike.
A small corner is enough
At 28 cm long, it fits in a small space: in front of a window, on the side of a bookcase or above a desk. It weighs only about 50 g, so the drops move with the slightest draught. A small self-adhesive hook will hold that weight if you'd rather not drill.
It also makes a sweet gift for a new baby or a new home.
A decoration, not a toy
The maker states it is for decoration only. Near small children, hang it where they cannot reach it. Keep it away from the cot and the changing table. If it gets dusty, brush it with a soft brush; don't put it in water.
