A 100 cm tall hand-carved Buddha statue is not just a decorative element — it is a kind of presence that changes the energy of a space. This Welcome pose symbolises hospitality and openness: the hand gesture invites, while the white scrubbed finish gives a restrained, noble character. The statue is hand-carved by Balinese masters from suar wood, using traditional methods. Carving a statue of this size can take weeks — the countless fine details give each piece lifelike quality and an authentic style. Every statue is a unique handcraft piece.
Suar wood – warm, organic material
Suar wood (Albizia saman) is a tropical tree native to Indonesia and Southeast Asia, known for its warm brown tones streaked with darker veins. Its hardness, durability and attractive grain make it a favoured wood for carving. The white scrubbed finish allows the natural texture of the wood to show through — the white paint partially absorbs into the grain and partially remains on the raised areas, creating contrast along the veining.
100 cm – monumental presence
The 100 cm size (40×28×100 cm) is a representative piece: suitable for an entrance, garden or terrace decoration, meditation space, or a large living room. It weighs 23 kg — stable, it will not topple. The white scrubbed finish is more understated than gold or brown versions, fitting elegantly into modern, minimalist or Zen-style spaces as well.
