Rough stones in seven colours run all the way round the inner rim of this Halo lamp's black metal ring. Going round the ring, the colours follow the rainbow, from red and orange through yellow and green to blue and violet. Its ring is 18 cm wide with an open centre; the lamp is 20.5 cm tall, the round base is 10 cm deep, and it weighs about 0.6 kg.
Seven chakras, seven colours
On the box you will read “7 Chakras”. The yoga tradition names seven main chakras from the base of the spine to the crown of the head and gives each one a colour. These are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet, and the stones follow roughly this order around the ring.
The maker does not name the exact stones; the box only says “7 Natural Crystals”, seven natural stones. This lamp belongs to the Zen series, so it has no selenite sign.
For a yoga corner, in warm light
In the warm, yellowish LED light the seven colours stand out clearly. If you practise yoga or work with the chakras, you can set it beside your mat in your practice corner. It also makes a lovely present for a yoga teacher, and it comes in its own printed box.
USB power and a cable switch
It runs from a USB cable, so a computer, a USB wall charger or a power strip with USB sockets will do. A small rocker switch sits on the cable. Dust it with a soft, dry brush, with the cable unplugged.
Natural stones vary, so the shades and shapes differ a little from lamp to lamp.
