Green Dragon Blend Tea 50g
Green tea has a five-thousand-year history in China and remains an essential part of its culture today. Our tea masters have combined two classic Chinese green teas in this blend: Sencha (a fresh, grassy green tea) and Lung Ching (also known as Dragon Well — one of China's most celebrated lightly pan-fired green teas). This foundation is supported by carefully chosen herbs and fruits that add playfulness and depth to the cup.
Flavour profile
The first sip is crisp, bright and slightly vegetal (green and meadow-like) thanks to the combination of both green teas. Nettle and horsetail add a mineral, deeper-green dimension, while pineapple and orange peel refresh the cup — as though you were walking through a sunlit garden. Olive leaf contributes a fine bitterness that anchors the profile, and freeze-dried blueberry offers a discreet fruity finish. The cup is a pale yellow-green, already evocative of fresh mornings at first glance.
What it is for
Green Dragon is an ideal morning or late-morning tea for when you want a light, energising sip — the natural caffeine of green tea supports a gentle start to the day, much more softly than a strong coffee. It is also an excellent companion during work or study, offering steady, calm focus without the sudden pulse often associated with black tea. It is also a good choice before exercise, offering light, fresh energy.
Preparation
Use 4 grams of tea (one heaped teaspoon) to 200 ml of water. IMPORTANT: do not pour boiling water over green tea, as it will become bitter. Let the boiled water rest for 2 to 3 minutes, or cool it to 70 to 80 degrees Celsius. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes — longer steeping may bring out bitterness. It is best enjoyed fresh and unsweetened, though a slice of lemon elegantly lifts the orange-peel aroma. Traditionally it can be re-steeped two or three times, with the second and third infusions being finer and softer.
Ingredients
Sencha green tea, Lung Ching green tea, nettle, horsetail, pineapple (pineapple, cane sugar, acidifying citric acid E 330), orange peel, olive leaf, freeze-dried blueberry, aroma. Every ingredient is of natural origin and carefully selected. Nettle and horsetail bring herbal richness, olive leaf adds a Mediterranean character, and the fruits contribute bright freshness.
Who we recommend it to
For green-tea lovers who appreciate a carefully composed, multi-layered experience, not just a source of caffeine. For those switching from coffee to green tea, it is a gentle yet effective gateway. For anyone who wants a clean, non-jittery focus drink alongside study or long creative work. A lovely gift for both beginning and advanced tea drinkers curious about classic Chinese greens. In its 50 gram pack, it easily fits into a birthday gift hamper.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from light, in a tightly sealed tin or glass jar. Green tea is particularly sensitive to humidity and external odours (avoid storing near coffee or strong spices). Once opened, ideally consume within 4 to 6 months to preserve the bright, fresh aromas. Refrigerator storage is NOT recommended, as moisture condenses on the leaves upon opening.
