A deep gong sound without a hard knock
Large gongs sound their best when the mallet meets the surface with enough weight yet gently. This mallet was made exactly for that: its head weighs 250 grams and is covered with soft felt. The weight ensures that the whole surface of the gong starts vibrating, letting the sound unfold deep and rich — while the soft felt makes the moment of impact melt into the resonance almost unnoticed instead of knocking.
For gongs and large drums alike
We recommend it primarily for gongs, but it is also an excellent choice for large drums where a powerful yet soft-attack sound is needed. It serves well in sound bath sessions, meditative music and stage percussion. If you are a sound therapist, this mallet gives you everything from the quietest, barely emerging gong tone to a powerful, room-filling resonance.
Comfortable size, secure grip
The mallet is 34 cm long, with a head of about 10 cm in diameter. This length provides enough momentum for large instruments while remaining easy to control, so you can dose the strength of each stroke precisely. The package contains a single mallet, made in Germany.
A tip for a beautiful gong tone
Strike the gong not at its centre but in the zone between the centre and the rim, loosely, from the wrist. Start with quiet strokes and let the sound build up gradually — with this heavy, soft-headed mallet you will reach the rolling, full resonance that makes the gong so beloved.
