Usage tips
Every tea has its own recipe: green tea 70-80 °C, 2-3 min; white tea 80 °C, 3-5 min; oolong 85-90 °C, 3-5 min; black tea 90-95 °C, 3-5 min; herbal 100 °C, 5-8 min. With a 350 ml pot one teaspoon of loose tea in the strainer is plenty — not overly strong. For blooming tea, place the bulb at the bottom (without the strainer) and watch it unfurl. Always use the strainer in a pre-warmed pot.
Storage and cleaning
Rinse with warm water after use. For sticky residue (common with strong black teas), a drop of mild detergent and a soft sponge do the job. Avoid abrasive scourers and harsh chemicals. Brush the strainer separately — fine mesh clogs easily with small leaf fragments. Dry thoroughly and store with the lid ajar. Before prolonged storage, wipe the inside dry with a soft cloth so no moisture remains.
