The trunk and branches of this little tree are twisted gold-coloured wire, set with 200 small polished rose quartz stones. Warm LED lights sit among them. It stands under a clear glass dome, its foot covered in pink stone chips, on a round dark brown base. Made in India.
The stones are threaded onto fine wire, and the strands are twisted into branches and trunk. Up close you can see each stone on its own, yet together they form a full, rounded crown.
Pink stones in warm light
By day you see the pale pink stones and the gold wire. In the evening, with the LEDs on, the light shines through the stones and the whole tree glows softly. You can use it as an evening light in the living room, the hallway or a darker corner.
It makes a kind present for a couple moving into a new home, as rose quartz is said to be the stone of love.
What you need for the lights
The LEDs need a USB cable, which plugs into a socket on the front of the base. The cable is not included, so you will need one of your own. Check the shape of the socket first and choose a cable that fits.
No dusting under the dome
The glass dome keeps dust and fingers off the stones, so you never have to dust them one by one. Just wipe the glass with a soft cloth now and then. The tree is 24.5 cm tall and 16 cm wide, and weighs about 1.2 kg with the dome. Carry it from below, by the base.
The wire branches are shaped by hand and the stones vary in shade, so each tree looks a little different from the photo.
