The warm colours of carnelian

Carnelian belongs to the chalcedony family, with characteristic colours ranging from pale peach-orange to deep reddish-brown. On this small gemstone tree the carnelian chips show their warm, vivid colour beautifully. The handcraft

The trunk and branches are made of copper wire, hand-shaped into a tree form by the makers. Small carnelian chips are glued to the branch tips, giving the tree's crown a vivid warm colour. The base is solid. As carnelian is a natural mineral, the chip shades vary slightly – some stones lean more towards peach-orange, others reach deeper red.

Placement ideas

Keep it away from strong heaters and humid rooms so the copper-wire surface does not become dull. When moving the piece, always hold it by the solid base, never the branches, so the small stone chips do not loosen. If one stone should come off, you can re-fix it carefully with a small drop of glue.
