Amethyst's purple shades
Amethyst is one of the best-known members of the quartz family, with colours ranging from pale lilac through deep magenta to darker plum shades. On this gemstone tree, the branches are adorned with small amethyst chips whose natural purple tones bring a special, somewhat understated elegance. We recommend it to you because purple suits calm, restrained interior spaces well.
How it is made
The trunk and branches are made of copper wire, hand-twisted by the makers. Small polished amethyst chips are attached to the branch tips. The base is solid so the tree stands firmly. As amethyst is a natural mineral, every stone shows its own shade – from pale lilac to deeper magenta.
Where it looks lovely
The amethyst tree fits beautifully on a bedroom bedside table, in a reading nook, or on a bathroom shelf as a decoration. You may also give it to a friend who appreciates purple shades or natural minerals. For people born in February it is a particularly thoughtful choice, since amethyst is the birthstone of that month.
Size and weight
The tree stands approximately 9-10 centimetres tall with a base around 4-5 centimetres wide. It weighs only a few dozen grams.
Care
Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth against dust. Do not use water or chemicals. Amethyst may fade under strong, long-lasting sunlight, so choose a spot with indirect light. Keep it away from other metal objects so the copper wire does not get scratched. Keep it away from strong heaters and humid rooms so the copper-wire surface does not become dull. When moving the piece, always hold it by the solid base, never the branches, so the small stone chips do not loosen. If one stone should come off, you can re-fix it carefully with a small drop of glue.
