Rainbow moonstone is the multicoloured variety of moonstone: white, beige, orange and pink shades blend within it, and as the light turns, a soft, pearly shimmer runs across it. This tapering, pointed-tip obelisk is about 7.5–10 cm tall.
About rainbow moonstone
Moonstone is a variety of feldspar marked by a characteristic soft play of light (adularescence) – as if moonlight were glowing within the stone. In the rainbow variety several colours blend together. In India, tradition calls it 'the dream stone', and regards it as a companion to calm and gentle emotions. These meanings belong to the stone's cultural story rather than to any medical effect.
The obelisk shape
The obelisk is an ancient, powerful shape, also called a 'column of light' and regarded as a symbol of renewal. Placed in a living room or study, the feng shui tradition holds it harmonises the space.
Use
The obelisk is an elegant decorative object on a table, a shelf or a windowsill, where light glints beautifully on the stone's pearly surface. It is also a favourite on a meditation corner or bedside table.
Good to know
This is a natural mineral, so size, colour and play of light vary from piece to piece and may differ from the picture; the size and weight given are approximate. It can be wiped with a soft cloth.
