Gemini Zodiac Trinket Dish and Incense Holder, Mango Wood, 10 cm

Gemini shown as two birds flying towards each other, on a round 10 cm mango wood dish. Holds an incense stick, rings or earrings.

The dish is made of mango wood, 10 cm across and 2.5 cm high. Inside it has a glossy lacquer finish and a dark blue rim with gold dots. In the white centre, two birds drawn in gold lines fly towards each other, their beaks almost touching. The small hole for an incense stick sits right between the two beaks. A ring of constellations runs around the edge. As it is made of wood, no two pieces have quite the same grain. Made in India; you receive one dish.

Two birds in place of the twins

Gemini is usually drawn as a pair of twins, but on this dish two birds make up the pair. The two brightest stars of the Gemini constellation are Castor and Pollux, named after the twin brothers of Greek legend.

Gemini runs roughly from 21 May to 21 June and is an air sign. Its people are said to be curious and talkative, quick to learn, and not fond of days that are all the same.

On the corner of your desk

If you like to burn incense while you read or write letters, the dish fits on the corner of a desk. Never leave it burning unattended, set it on a heat-proof surface and air the room afterwards. Incense sticks are sold separately; the package contains only the dish.

Without incense it suits rings and earrings, and the 2.5 cm rim keeps them from sliding out.

For a May or June birthday

Give it to a Gemini friend as a small birthday present, perhaps with a box of incense. The dish comes in all twelve signs, so if someone else in the family has a birthday, you can choose theirs as well.
