A larger 3–4 cm tumbled garnet in a glowing, deep red – it fills the palm nicely, making a lovely palm stone, decoration or collector’s piece. B-quality stones show the natural mineral’s lively variety.
The stone of garnet
Garnet is a hard group of silicate minerals formed deep within the earth under great heat and pressure; its best-known deep-red variety is almandine, with a Mohs hardness of around 6.5–7.5. Its glowing, full red looks noble and strong. In crystal lore it is known as a stone of vitality and courage, and tradition links it with willpower, optimism and hope.
The larger piece and B quality
At 3–4 cm this is a substantial palm stone; the natural inclusions and fine surface marks of B-quality stones give each one character. As a natural stone, the shade and shape can differ, and every piece is unique.
Ways to use it
Its larger size makes it a lovely stand-alone accent on a shelf or desk, and a strengthening palm stone to hold. Its deep, noble colour also makes a meaningful gift.
Care and good to know
It is a hard, durable stone, yet it is worth protecting from knocks and storing apart. Rinse under lukewarm water and pat dry with a soft cloth.
