A smaller 2–3 cm tumbled garnet in a glowing red – it sits comfortably in the pocket or palm, making a popular pocket stone and meditation piece. B-quality stones show the natural mineral’s lively variety.
The stone of garnet
Garnet is a hard group of silicate minerals formed deep within the earth under great heat and pressure; its deep-red, best-known variety is almandine, with a Mohs hardness of around 6.5–7.5. Its full, glowing red is strong and noble. In crystal lore it is known as a stone of vitality and courage, and tradition links it with willpower, optimism and hope.
The smaller piece and B quality
At 2–3 cm this is a comfortable pocket stone you can carry discreetly. The natural marks of B-quality stones give each one character; as a natural stone, the shade and shape can differ, and every piece is unique.
Ways to use it
Its smaller size makes it an ideal pocket stone and hand-held meditation piece, while it also looks lovely in a jar or crystal corner. Its deep red brings a spirited, confident mood.
Care and good to know
It is a hard, durable stone, yet it is worth protecting from knocks and storing apart. Rinse under lukewarm water and pat dry with a soft cloth.
