The representative Ganesha
This version is a larger Ganesha statue seated on an ornate throne — the most representative piece in the series. The throne's back and armrests are full of finely carved-style motifs, and the base is wide and stable. Ganesha himself sits in a dignified posture, holding traditional attributes (axe, noose, modaka, blessing gesture), with a gentle, kind expression. The fineness of the details is stunning: the anatomy of the elephant head, the curves of the four arms, the crown-like headdress, the robe folds, the jewellery and the throne patterns are all exceptionally well worked.
Size and weight
Larger tabletop size, noticeably heavier than the smaller versions. Lift with both hands, and it stands on a wide, stable base. We do not recommend this piece for a children's room or easily accessible spot — a representative shelf or free table is its proper place.
Where to place it
This statue can be a room's centrepiece. Many place it on top of a living room bookcase, on a mantelpiece, on a study's representative shelf or in the middle of a free table. It also makes an excellent centrepiece for a meditation corner. With a candle or tealight next to it, the details come alive in gentle shadows in the evening.
Material and care
Made of metal alloy (probably brass or bronze-coloured alloy), heavy and solid construction. Wipe from time to time with a dry soft cloth. Dust the throne patterns, headdress, ears and gaps between fingers with a fine brush. Do not wash with water, as the metal surface can develop a patina — in many people's eyes the patina only adds to the piece's beauty. If you want to preserve the original shine, wipe with clean oil once or twice a year.
Collection and gift
This Ganesha is an especially good choice for collectors, lovers of Indian statues, and in situations calling for a significant, representative gift: weddings, milestone life anniversaries, business launches, housewarmings for a larger home. Thanks to the large, ornate finish, it also suits ceremonial occasions — particularly sought-after during the Diwali season.
How it fits with the series' other pieces
It can be placed alongside the smaller modaka and attribute Ganesha statues, together forming a beautiful collection. With the medium version on the lotus throne, all four variants show different facets of Ganesha — the cheerful, the traditional and the dignified side alike.
