The elephant-headed, four-armed figure fills a space with a calm, friendly presence: this Ganesha statue is made with fine detail in a light, white tone. It stands 17 cm tall.
Who is Ganesha?
Ganesha is one of Hinduism's best-known gods, with the head of an elephant, revered as the remover of obstacles. He is a symbol of wisdom, prosperity and new beginnings; by tradition he is often turned to when starting a new venture or journey, to clear obstacles and open the way. He is loved both as a decorative piece for the home and as a gift. These are traditional meanings, not facts.
Material and make
The statue is made of a cast material with fine craftsmanship. Owing to the nature of the production – differences in the ratio of powder and lime and in the heat treatment – the white tone can vary slightly from piece to piece: from a more translucent, milky white to a more porcelain-like white. It stands 17 cm tall.
Where does it fit?
It looks well on a home altar, near an entrance or in a study, and makes a kind, symbolic gift for a new beginning. Dust it with a soft, dry cloth.
