Frame Drum – Ø 60 cm, Goatskin, with Wooden Cross

A 60 cm frame drum with a goatskin head and a beech frame. Supplied with twelve tuning screws and an internal wooden holding cross.

The largest frame drum in the Natural range

With its 60 cm diameter (approx. 24 inches), this is the biggest member of the Schlagwerk Frame Drums Natural family. The large head surface gives a deep, full fundamental tone, and the long sustain fills the room. If you want a drum that can carry the rhythm on its own in a sound bath, a drum circle or on stage, this is the size for you.

Goatskin on seven-ply beech

The sound comes from a carefully selected goatskin stretched over a seven-ply glued beech frame that stands 8 cm tall. The combination of natural skin and solid wood produces a clean, overtone-rich voice: bright, snappy tones near the rim and a deep, resonant fundamental in the centre of the head.

Tunable at twelve points

Using the 12 tuning screws set into the frame you can adjust the tension of the skin precisely and reach the finest tonal nuances. The tuning key is included. Goatskin reacts sensitively to air humidity, so it is worth running quickly around the screws before playing - a few turns and the drum is back at the pitch you want.

Wooden cross for a secure grip

A wooden holding cross runs inside the shell, giving your hand a firm support. Your wrist stays comfortable through longer sessions, and you can rotate the instrument freely while playing with a beater or your palm. It remains easy to handle standing up and on the move.
