A pure, natural drum sound from goatskin
The frame drum is one of the oldest instrument types: a slim wooden frame with a skin stretched over it - nothing more. On this 40 cm drum with an 8 cm deep frame, hand-selected goatskin creates a warm, natural, rich tone, whether you play with fingers, palms or a soft mallet. The frame is made of seven layers of beech wood, making the instrument light yet durable - it weighs only about 1.2 kg.
Tunable to your taste
You adjust the skin tension with eight tuning screws built into the frame: tighter gives a higher, brighter tone, looser a deeper, softer one. The tuning key is included with the drum. This is a great advantage over non-tunable drums, since natural skin responds to humidity - with a few turns of the screws you can always bring back your favourite sound.
Without a holding cross - both hands free
This version comes without a wooden holding cross: you hold the drum by the rim of the frame, so both hands can move freely on the skin and all the classic hand techniques - finger rolls, palm strokes, rim accents - are comfortable to play. Excellent for meditation sessions, rhythm circles, song accompaniment and music therapy work.
For beginners and experienced players alike
No musical training is needed: a frame drum rewards you with sound from the very first minute and offers room to grow at every level. Carefully made in Germany.
