Four Kingdoms Tea 50g — rooibos with apple, cinnamon and coconut

Four Kingdoms Tea builds on the warm, woody-sweet character of rooibos (the South African "red bush"), completed with apple pieces, ground cinnamon and grated coconut. The aroma is reminiscent of a handcrafted bake fresh from the oven: homely, warm, yet light. Naturally caffeine-free, it can be enjoyed at any time — from cosy winter evenings to quiet moments of relaxation. The name refers to the four ingredients, each representing its own "kingdom": rooibos brings Africa, apple Europe, cinnamon Asia and coconut the tropics — a journey around the world in a single cup.

Flavour profile

The first sip reveals the silky sweetness of rooibos, warmed by the gentle fruitiness of apple. Cinnamon delivers a warm, spiced character, while grated coconut leaves a creamy, softly sweet finish on the palate. The cup shines in a rusty red hue, and the aroma feels like walking into a Christmas kitchen. The blend is naturally sweet, never overwhelming, and each sip leaves a pleasantly long aftertaste.

What is this tea for?

An ideal choice on colder days, when you long for a warm, comforting drink. Caffeine-free, so you can enjoy it in the evening without disturbing your sleep. Also a charming tea to serve guests — the coconut and cinnamon notes are easy to love. A particular favourite during the Christmas and Advent season, but delicious all year round.

Step-by-step brewing

Boil fresh water. Use 2-3 grams of tea per 200 ml cup, pour over water at 95 °C and steep for 4-5 minutes. Rooibos does not turn bitter with longer steeping, so feel free to leave it a bit longer for a more intense cup. Honey or a splash of milk pairs nicely, though it is pleasantly sweet even without. Also excellent chai-style: simmer for 5 minutes, then add warm milk or plant milk at a 1:1 ratio.

Ingredients

Rooibos, apple (6%, apple approx. 97.5%, salt, citric acid E330, optionally ascorbic acid E300), cinnamon, grated coconut, natural aroma. No added sugar, colouring or preservatives.

Who is it for?

Anyone seeking natural sweetness in the cup without added sugar. Caffeine-free, so it can be considered by expecting mothers as well (we recommend consulting a professional first). A lovely non-alcoholic alternative for festive gatherings, especially in winter. Works beautifully at friendly get-togethers, over a slice of cake or during solitary reading time.

Storage and shelf life

Keep in a sealed container in a cool, dry place, away from strong aromas. Coconut and cinnamon are particularly sensitive to moisture — store strictly in dry conditions. Best aroma is preserved for 12-18 months. A metal tin or airtight glass jar is the ideal container: metal blocks out light, while glass seals well against air and remains completely flavour-neutral, preserving the cinnamon and coconut aromas at their best for many months to come.
