Four Kingdoms — Rooibos with Apple, Cinnamon and Coconut, in a Gift Tin
Four Kingdoms is a warm, comforting rooibos blend that brings together the classic flavours of the cold season: the velvety base of South African red bush tea meets apple's sweet-tart fruitiness, the spicy warmth of cinnamon, and the silky, exotic character of grated coconut. Four "kingdoms" — four main ingredients — in one rounded cup.
What makes it special?
Most cinnamon-apple teas use a black tea base, meaning they contain caffeine. Four Kingdoms, however, is rooibos-based, so it's 100% caffeine-free — enjoyable anytime, even before bed. Thanks to rooibos's natural sweetness and apple's fruity character, the blend is complete without added sweeteners — ideal for those avoiding added sugar. Its dessert-like character is especially welcome on autumn and winter evenings when you want something warm and rounded.
The art of ingredients
Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis) provides a soft, velvety base with minimal tannin — so the tea never feels rough. Apple (6% of the blend, 97.5% apple pieces with acidifier and optional vitamin C) adds fruity sweetness and gentle tart freshness. Cinnamon — likely cassia (Cinnamomum cassia), the classic cinnamon of winter baking — brings warm spice depth that lifts any hot drink into something festive. Grated coconut contributes a silky, almond-like, exotic finish.
Flavour and aroma profile
The aroma is warm and sweet-spicy — as if someone is baking apple-cinnamon pie in the kitchen. In the cup, rooibos's soft warmth opens, lifted by cinnamon's classic rounded spice. Apple's sweet-tart character shines through the middle, while coconut's gently creamy, almond-smooth note finishes the cup. Especially harmonious against the cold — a cup almost carries you through a snowy winter afternoon.
Who is it for?
Ideal for those who: love rounded, comforting flavour profiles; crave warm drinks in autumn and winter; want a caffeine-free alternative to black-tea-based spiced blends; would like a sweet, healthier option for children; seek a calming ritual before bed; or are looking for a gift for the festive autumn-winter season.
How to brew it
Use 2–3 grams per 200 ml of water at 95 °C, steeped for 4–5 minutes. Rooibos doesn't turn bitter, so 7 minutes is fine for a stronger cup. Apple and cinnamon release their full character best with hot water and at least 4 minutes steeping. With milk or plant-based drink, you get a creamier, dessert-like experience — particularly appealing for children. Also lovely with honey, but complete on its own.
The premium tin
The 50-gram airtight metal tin (6.5 × 6.5 × 9 cm) protects the ingredients from light and moisture. The aromas of cinnamon and apple are sensitive to air and light, so the tin is especially valuable here. Its elegant, discreet appearance looks beautiful on a festive winter table too.
Tips
Try apple-cinnamon rooibos latte: brew concentrated (3 g / 100 ml), top with steamed milk or plant drink, sweeten with honey — a festive, dessert-like drink for Christmas evenings. Or add it to an alcohol-free dried-fruit punch with orange juice and a cinnamon stick.
