A black cardboard box for one bottle of wine. Assembled, it is 33.5 cm long, 10 cm wide and 10.5 cm high, and the lid closes with a magnet. Empty, it weighs 240 g. You get one box, made in China.
A black box for a good bottle
When you take a carefully chosen bottle to a host or to an anniversary dinner, the black box suits the occasion. The handle is black too, held by two gold-coloured clips, and there is no other decoration. Inside, the box is black as well.
The lid has an oval opening. When you fold it down the handle comes through, so you can carry the box closed. If you want to add a small card, slip it in beside the bottle.
Before you put the bottle in
The wine lies down inside. A standard wine bottle fits, but measure a taller, slender bottle: it should be a little shorter than the box's outside length of 33.5 cm. A brandy or oil bottle of similar size works too.
Lying down, the bottle can shift, so wrap it in tissue paper or a cloth napkin. Do not post it like this, as glass needs a strong, padded box.
Putting the box together
It comes flat. Peel the backing off the four corners, raise the sides and press the corners into place. Then fold the lid down so its opening fits over the handle. Until then it stores in very little space.
The same box also comes in brown kraft and white. For small extras to go with the wine, such as a corkscrew and a card, choose the flat 24 × 18.2 × 8 cm black lidded box.
