This gift box is made of brown kraft cardboard. Assembled, it is 20 cm wide, 10 cm deep and 20 cm high. Its two side panels lean in and meet at the top, where a handle is cut into the board, so you carry it like a small paper bag. You get one box, made in China.
Arrives flat, you fold it up
The box comes opened out. Lay it down with the inside facing up, lift both handle panels and open the side folds. Then bring the two handles together and it is ready. No glue is needed.
Before folding it fits in the bottom of a drawer. Keep a few at home and you will not be hunting for wrapping paper on the evening before a birthday.
A natural colour for homemade gifts
Kraft is the warm brown of plain wrapping paper. It suits things you have made yourself: a bag of home-baked biscuits, a bar of soap, a small candle or a packet of tea. In the maker's photos it holds a folded T-shirt.
Widest at the base, the box narrows towards the top, so flatter and lower items suit it best. For something taller, look at the larger 28 × 12.5 × 26 cm version.
By hand or by post
Handing a gift over in person is where it works best: you carry it by the handle, and so can the person who receives it. If you want to add twine or ribbon, thread it through the two handle holes. Jute ribbon goes well with the natural brown.
To post it, put it inside a larger carton, as the top does not lock and the panels simply meet at the handle. Empty, it weighs 250 g.
