A gift box folded from black cardboard, 20 cm wide, 10 cm deep and 20 cm high once assembled. The two side panels meet at the top, where the handle is cut into the board, so you can carry it in one hand. Empty, it weighs 250 g. You get one box, made in China.
A black box needs little else
Black wrapping does not ask for much decoration. Add a white or gold ribbon and a handwritten card, and the gift is ready. Many people pick black when wrapping for a man: a father, a grandfather, a colleague.
If you are giving a shaving soap, a scented candle or a bag of coffee, black suits them well.
What fits on a 20 × 10 cm base?
Like a tent, it is widest at the bottom and narrows upwards, so flatter items suit it best: a folded scarf or T-shirt, a bar or two of soap, a small candle, a bar of chocolate. For a taller jar or several items, choose the large black box at 28 × 12.5 × 26 cm.
Folding and posting
You receive it flat. Lay it inside up, lift the two handle panels, open the side folds and bring the handles together. No glue needed. Unfolded it takes up very little room, so you can always keep a spare.
Before posting it, put it inside a larger carton, as there is no catch or magnet on top and the two side panels simply meet at the handle. Handing it over in person is no problem.
The same size also comes in brown kraft and cream. Wrapping for several family members at one celebration, you can use the colours to show whose box is whose.
