Amethyst, the stone of calm
Amethyst is the violet variety of quartz, coloured by iron and natural irradiation. Its Mohs hardness is about 7, and major sources include Brazil, Uruguay and Zambia. In tradition it is regarded as a stone of calm and clarity, linked to the crown chakra and the third eye, and seen as a support for relaxation and meditation.
Why a sphere?
A spherical cut scatters light evenly in every direction, which is why it is favoured in feng-shui-minded spaces and in meditation practice. The round form evokes wholeness and continuity, and makes a pleasant focal point in a quiet moment.

The sphere is cut from polished natural amethyst and measures about 2.5 cm across. As a genuine mineral, colour intensity and internal inclusions vary from piece to piece – every sphere is unique.
How it is used

Care
A soft, barely damp cloth is enough to clean it. Amethyst's colour can fade over time in prolonged sunlight, so it is best protected from strong, direct sun.
