Sound and character
A felt ring is not an instrument but an accessory responsible for the free vibration of a singing bowl. This large 16 cm version offers a generous bearing surface for bigger bowls, so the bowl does not sink into the cushion and the surface does not damp the long sustain. The rubberised underside keeps both the bowl and the ring from slipping on a table, the floor or a textile placed on the body.
How to use
Place the singing bowl in the centre of the felt ring, making sure the rim does not overhang. Set it on a table, the floor or a low riser with the rubberised side facing down. During sound massage it can also be placed on a cushion or fabric resting on the client's body, where the rubber surface stays put.
Why this product
The right-sized ring gives a longer and cleaner sustain — too small a ring lets the bowl wobble, too large a ring absorbs overtones. This 16 cm version is the ideal support for singing bowls between 1.5 and 8 kg, and offers a stable surface for instruments up to 45 cm in diameter.
Care tips
- Always place it on a dry, flat surface so the bowl does not rock.
- Brush the felt surface gently from time to time to prevent dust build-up.
- Keep it away from damp textiles and chemicals so the felt remains resilient.
- If you work with several singing bowls, keep different ring sizes in your kit.
