An upright laptop case made of soft, slightly padded felt, about 25 cm wide and 34 cm tall, with a zip. It is coral pink, with a face that winks one eye and pokes out a red tongue. Two round ears with black centres stick out at the sides, and the top edge runs in soft scallops. Made by hand in Nepal using traditional felting.
Which laptop fits?
It is made for laptops up to about 14 inches, meaning a screen of roughly 35 cm measured diagonally. You slide the laptop in standing upright, short edge first.
Measure your laptop before you order: its shorter side should be a few centimetres under 25 cm and its longer side a few centimetres under 34 cm. If you have a 15-inch or larger laptop, this case will be too small.
Against scratches, even in a backpack
The felt protects the lid from scratches and scuffs and softens small knocks. It is not made to survive a fall; for that you need a thick, rigid case.
Carry it under your arm on its own, or put it in a backpack or work bag, where keys and pens can no longer scratch the top of your laptop.
A face that winks back
If you like cheerful things, this case will never get mixed up with the plain black ones in a meeting room or a library. It also makes a sweet gift for a student or anyone who works on a laptop a lot.
Because it is felted by hand, the shade, the features of the face and the shape of the ears may differ slightly from the photo.
If it gets marked, dab it gently with a cloth dampened in lukewarm water and let it dry naturally. Don't machine wash it, as the felt can shrink and your laptop would no longer fit.
