Specifications
A double-headed mallet with felt covering for playing singing bowls. One head is medium, the other is larger, so a single tool gives two distinct sound characters. The shaft is wood, 40 cm long, and the head diameters are 5 and 6 cm. Made in Germany at the Feeltone workshop.
- Heads: 2 felt heads, medium (5 cm) and large (6 cm) diameter
- Shaft: wood, 40 cm
- Material: felt
- Recommended bowl weight: 400-1500 g
- Origin: Germany
Sound and character
The felt covering draws a warm, soft tone from the bowl: the attack is rounded and the sustain long and full. With two head sizes you can finely choose whether the bowl sounds deeper or richer in overtones. The larger head produces a more dynamic, carrying fundamental, while the medium head gives a more nuanced, finer impulse.
How to use
The mallet is recommended for singing bowls between 400 and 1500 grams. Hold the shaft loosely and let the tool fall onto the rim with its own weight: the less tension in your hand, the cleaner the tone. It works well for sound massage, meditation practice and group relaxation alike.
Why this product
You choose this mallet when you want two distinct sound characters in a single tool, and look for build quality that withstands years of use. Pieces from the Feeltone workshop are made by hand and keep their shape over time.
Care tips
- The larger the mallet, the greater the impact: use it thoughtfully.
- Never strike people or animals with the tool.
- Try both heads to find the best match for your bowl.
- Keep the felt head dry and dust-free to preserve its sound character.
- Store the mallet flat so the head shape does not distort.
